PCB Design, Manufacturing, and Assembly for Quadrotor

With the rapid rise in popularity of quadcopters, our factory has seen a significant increase in shipments, especially to Israel. Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and in 2018, we are expecting orders to reach 50,000 units.

At our company, we offer a comprehensive one-stop service for quadrotor production — covering everything from PCB design, PCB manufacturing, to full PCB assembly.

What is a Quadrotor?

A quadrotor, also known as a quadcopter, is a type of multirotor helicopter that uses four rotors for lift and propulsion. Unlike fixed-wing aircraft, quadcopters belong to the rotorcraft category, as they rely on rotors to generate lift.

Structural and Component Overview

The quadrotor’s frame is built using a combination of electric tail pipes and pipe bases, reinforced with durable hard discs. The motor model 2212 KV930 is used for its reliable performance. We’ve also received excellent feedback in Germany for the positive and negative propeller set EPP1045.

Working Principle

The principle behind a quadrotor is relatively straightforward. For a four-axis quadcopter, four propellers form a rotor plane. A flight control board manages each power group to adjust the plane’s tilt and lift, enabling controlled movement and direction changes.

Challenges in Control and Cost

One of the main challenges in quadcopter design is the control system. GPS ICs are often expensive, contributing significantly to production costs. The quadrotor maneuvers by adjusting the RPM (rotations per minute) of each motor. Thus, controller inputs must be translated into individual commands for each motor.

To optimize this, we use the FT06-C remote control and upgrade it from a 6-channel to an 8-channel system, adding two proportional channels and an LCD display for real-time parameter monitoring. The PPM (Pulse Position Modulation) code board is used to enhance control functionality.

Advanced quadcopters integrate a flight controller that communicates bi-directionally with the remote. These systems often include GPS, gyroscopes, compasses, and barometers to ensure precision and stability.

Competitive Advantages

By leveraging high-quality materials and efficient processes, we are able to control production costs effectively, delivering both value and reliability to our customers.
